The fine print, unfinefied

Terms of Service:
plain language version.

These are the rules for using this site and ordering from us. We wrote them like a person, not a legal department. If something's unclear, just ask.

Using this site

By browsing speakfromyourart.com, you're agreeing to use it for its intended purpose: shopping for custom apparel, reading about what we do, and getting in touch with us.

Don't use it to do anything harmful, fraudulent, or illegal. Don't try to disrupt how it works. We reserve the right to refuse service or access to anyone who's misusing the site, though honestly, if you're here, you're probably just trying to find a meaningful gift, and that's all we could ask for.

Custom orders are final sale

Every piece we make is custom, produced specifically for your order, with your handwriting, your words, or your chosen quote. Because of that, we can't accept returns for change of mind.

When you place an order, you're confirming the text, garment, size, and colour are correct. We encourage you to double-check everything before you submit. If something isn't right on our end, a production error, defect, or damage in transit, we replace it. That's always on us.

See our full returns & exchanges page for details on how that works.

Intellectual property

Your handwriting belongs to you. When you upload a photo of your handwriting to us, you own it. You're giving us permission to reproduce it on a garment as part of your order. Nothing more. We won't use it in marketing, share it publicly, or claim any rights to it.

The same goes for text you type or quotes you select during the ordering process. We're printing your expression of something personal. That expression is yours.

Everything that belongs to us stays ours. The Speak From Your Art name, logo, brand identity, site design, copy, and all original content on this site are owned by Speak From Your Art. You're welcome to share a link to our site, but please don't reproduce our branding or copy without permission.

Limitation of liability

We're a small business and we care deeply about the quality of every order. But like any business, we need to be clear: our liability is limited to the value of the order in question.

We're not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs authorities, or other circumstances outside our control. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, if a gift doesn't arrive in time for an event because of a courier delay, for example, that's outside what we can be held responsible for.

If something goes wrong that's genuinely our fault, we'll make it right. That's not just a legal commitment, it's just how we operate.

Governing law

Speak From Your Art is based in Montréal, Québec, Canada. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the applicable laws of Canada.

If there's ever a dispute we can't resolve by talking it through, it would be handled in the courts of Québec. We genuinely hope it never comes to that, and in three-plus years of doing this, it never has.

Questions about any of this?

If something in here is unclear or you want to talk through a specific situation, reach out. We're a real team of real people and we'll give you a straight answer.
